At the heart of this interplay between art and technology lies the concept of waves. Whether in the form of sound, light, or movement, waves have the power to convey complex emotions and ideas, transcending language and culture. In the context of the human body, waves take on a special significance, representing the ebb and flow of life itself. By juxtaposing the cold, metallic sounds of machinery with the warm, organic textures of the human body, the piece invites us to reflect on the relationship between technology and biology. At the same time, the use of these sounds also serves to highlight the unique qualities of human intuition and emotion.
While machines may be capable of reproducing a wide range of sounds and sensations, they will never possess the innate ability to sense and respond to the world around us in the same way that humans do. Drawing on ancient Serbian mythology, which holds that the soul resides in the stomach, the piece also speaks to the enduring power of traditional beliefs and symbols in our rapidly changing world. By combining modern technology with ancient wisdom, the work offers a unique perspective on the complex interplay of waves that shape our lives.
